It’s time to get to know your T cells!
T cells are a type of white blood cell called lymphocytes. They’re an important part of the immune system, regulating damaged or irregular cells.
Recently, researchers at Columbia University and Baylor University completed a study examining the mechanisms by which camphor white essential oil promotes cellular health. Their research suggests a number of interesting findings. Camphor white essential oil (“Cinnamomum camphora”) was found to be particularly high in eucalyptol (1,8-Cineole) and limonene, with lower levels of alpha-Pinene and gamma-Terpinene. They also found that, when tested in vivo, camphor white essential oil increased the expression of genes involving T cells.*
Limonene and alpha-Pinene are chemical compounds present in several essential oils, including Frankincense, Cypress, and Rosemary. This preliminary research suggests further studies may find adding a drop of any of these essential oils to your daily regimen can promote cellular wellness.*
